Shavorã - Roots and Wings
Shavora is the sacred manifestation of Hukena and Nãwãma’s life’s mission together. It is through their divine union where they have been healing and transforming the structures that were previously ingrained into their culture.
These two powerful women are united at the forefront of the Yawanawa’s spiritual tradition, and are gaining strength, sacred independence , and seeking the independence of other women, especially other indigenous women.
Shavorã is the sacred journey through voice, through love, and through respect and celebration for all of our differences and unique gifts, for all women and for all of humanity.
-
Hukena Yawanawa began her journey on the path of spirituality at a very young age, being one of the youngest women of her people to be initiated into the Muka diet, one of the most sacred and important spiritual diets of her tradition, receiving it from the hands of the master and shaman Tata, and her mother Hushahu, the first female shaman of her people. Since then, she has dedicated her journey to the study of sacred medicines. Through the ancestral knowledge of her tradition, she conducts spiritual and healing ceremonies throughout Brazil and abroad, bringing her strength, knowledge and beauty through chants and sacred medicines.
-
Nãwãma, began her spiritual path in traditions of African origin where she dedicated herself to studying for a few years, and has also been sharing her study and knowledge through the diets and studies she carried out in the Yawanawa tradition, throughout Brazil and the world together with Hukena, in the search to honor the roots of these traditions with seriousness and respect and planting seeds of new thinking and strength, she also brings the power in her voice through sacred songs and her works, exalting feminine strength.
